Currency And Issuance

The Arcturus network includes its own built-in currency, Arcturus, which serves the dual purpose of providing a primary liquidity layer to allow for efficient exchange between various types of digital assets and, more importantly, of providing a mechanism for paying transaction fees. To facilitate ease of use and avoid potential confusion in the future, the denominations are pre-labelled:

• $1$: Vega

• $10^{12}$: Orion

• $10^{15}$: Rigel

• $10^{18}$: Arcturus

This denomination structure is similar to how "dollars" and "cents" or "BTC" and "satoshis" are used in traditional currency systems. We anticipate that in the near future, "Arcturus" will be used for regular transactions, "arcturus" for microtransactions, and "orion" and "vega" for technical discussions around fees and protocol implementation. The other denominations are reserved for potential future use and should not be included in clients at this stage.
